November 11, 2016 - CHARLOTTE, NC - Rising pop singer/songwriter Kristina Lachaga, "The Girl With The Big Pink Heart," will be kicking off the holiday season Charlotte-style (complete with a giant float, a turkey named Charlotte, and sweet tea, of course!). This Thanksgiving, 'You're Invited' to rock out with Lachaga as she makes her television debut - taking the stage (well...float!) to entertain viewers in over 1.1 million households with her new single "R.S.V.P." in Charlotte, North Carolina's Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Fittingly, her new single "R.S.V.P." -- hitting iTunes Friday, November 18th -- is inspired by a book that takes place in North Carolina. Published by Simon & Schuster/Aladdin MIX and written by Jen Malone and Gail Nall, the You're Invited book series' descriptions of the North Carolina beach town and steadfast friendships helped to spark the song's lyrics. You "couldn't wish for anything more" from this catchy and upbeat song that captures the good-time vibes you have when you're with your BFFs.
As the Queen City's 70th Thanksgiving Day Parade rolls through Uptown Charlotte on Thursday, November 24th at 9:30 a.m EST, more than 100,000 people are expected to gather along the mile-long parade route. Produced by Charlotte Center City Partners, the country's fourth largest parade will be broadcast on WBTV at 4:00 p.m. to 1.1 million households across the region Thanksgiving Day, will re-air on Christmas Day, and will be made available on Time Warner Cable On-Demand. National and international fans can download the Novant Thanksgiving Day Parade app to watch the parade LIVE on Thanksgiving Day (iTunes or Google Play). While in Charlotte, "The Girl With The Big Pink Heart" will also be stopping by Seacrest Studios to visit the kids and teens, play games with them, and perform her original songs.
2016 has been a banner year for Lachaga who has shared the stage with many artists on the scene, including Olivia Holt, Shawn Hook, Heffron Drive (featuring Kendall Schmidt of Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush), Skylar Stecker, X Factor's Bea Miller, and stars from Disney and Nickelodeon at concerts and events up and down the East Coast: iHeartRadio's Z104.3 and Girls' Life magazine's One Direction and Shawn Mendes Concert Pre-Parties, the New York State Fair, State Fair Meadowlands, Erie County Fair, Girls World Expo, Seacrest Studios, Schenectady County SummerNight w/ Grammy-Nominated Special Guests Gin Blossoms, and more.
November 24th will mark Lachaga's first time performing in the Queen City, but she is no stranger to North Carolina having performed many times in the Raleigh-Durham area including Girls World Expo and sharing her 'Sticks & Stones' anti-bullying message for 2 weeks with North Carolina youth at middle and high schools as part of a 17-week nationwide concert tour. "The Girl With The Big Pink Heart" encourages her fans (called #Heartbreakers) to #FollowYourHeartsDream and believes it is important to use her voice to help give teens and tweens the confidence to explore their passions, work hard, and be themselves.
